Pitch Session Rules

  1. Please report to the pitch room at least five minutes prior to the start of your session. You will not be permitted to enter a session late.
  2. Last minute scheduling due to no-shows will be filled on a first-come, first-serve basis just prior to session times. Arrive no later than five minutes prior to sessions to await no-show availability as last minute fill-ins will also not be permitted to enter a session late.
  3. You will receive notice when two minutes remain in your session and again at one minute so you can wrap up your conversation in time for the next session. Sessions are not permitted to go over their allotted time.

    Volunteer Position Descriptions

    Scheduling maintains the schedule and checks writers in for their sessions. Writers trying to schedule for later open sessions will need to be accomodated around session change-overs in order to maintain the pitch room schedule.

    Usher (located outside pitch room) helps check in and coordinate waiting writers and usher them into their proper seats as soon as the Time Keeper has escorted the previous sessions out. The usher also has water, etc., ready to replenish for agents/editors between sessions. The Usher should be personable and patient with potentially nervous writers.
