This May, OWFI invites you to explore The Magic of Writing at our annual writing conference in Oklahoma City.
Our 2026 keynote speaker is the award-winning Mercedes M. Yardley— Miss Murder to her fans. Unsparing yet enchanting, she crafts “whimsical horror,” richly lyrical fairytales infused with dark twists, high body counts, and language that haunts. Her Bram Stoker–winning works, including Little Dead Red and Fracture, touch the beautiful and the macabre.
A stellar lineup of writers and industry experts from across genres join Mercedes, providing insights and tips to help us navigate this magical world of writing.

Walk-In Registration Information
Online registration ended April 17th, but we will be accepting walk-in registrations at the door!
What to Expect:
Walk-in registration will be available on-site.
Pricing remains the same as our standard conference rates and is based on session attendance, not food service.
Walk-in registrations do not include meals (banquets or lunches).
Swag Bags:
A limited number of swag bags will be available for walk-in attendees on a first-come, first-served basis.
Pitch Room:
Walk-in registrations do include complimentary pitch sessions. Check-in early at the Pitch Room to view the schedule and sign up for a time slot. These are available on first-come, first-serve availability.
Walk-In Pricing:
*Walk-in attendees will be charged the current conference rate at the time of registration. Please understand that due to venue deadlines, walk-in registrations will not receive the complimentary food service at luncheons or banquets.

For the most immersive conference experience, consider booking your stay at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Oklahoma City Will Rogers Airport. Rooming at the venue allows more time for networking and enjoying any impromptu post-session activities. Our host inevitably sells out each year, so authors who wait to reserve a room are often left hunting for alternate accommodations nearby.
